Spekko Rice, Imbo Beans

Project brief:

Create an integrated digital marketing strategy to expand brand awareness and gain a definite share of voice in the social sphere, outpace competitor noise in the digisphere, and help drive sales with targeted campaigns. A contender brand with ambitious ideas but limited budget, this was an exciting and challenging project that called for ‘rolled-up-sleeves’ and true partnership.

Our solution:

Starting from the ground up, we built a fully responsive website that is now the proud home of Spekko Rice in the online world. Housing an impressive recipe archive with multiple search criteria, the site is extremely user friendly and visually appealing as well as functional. Driving traffic to the site through social media interaction and video and editorial lifestyle content that serves as a drawcard, the Spekko online presence has grown exponentially. We also produce featured content pieces like Chef of the Month video interviews, brand promotions, competitions, kitchen hacks, and highly interactive video cooking tips. Given the importance of impulse purchasing, retail promotions are driven through mobile interactions, such as competitions and digital couponing.

Having to punch smart, we repurpose content from various sources, making sure that the maximum brand exposure is obtained through online channels, which have greater longevity, such as YouTube and online magazines.

Honeykome is the retained digital agency for Spekko Rice, and also handles online promotions for other products in the essential foods category for Pioneer Foods. IMBO is one of our newest – and most creatively stimulating – clients. We’ve managed to transform IMBO’s non-existent online presence into a fast growing community of food lovers, by creating monthly content calendars packed with engaging social media posts, recipe videos, kitchen hacks, and health tips
